24 Hour Countdown To Dublin
Twenty four hours from now I will be arriving in Dublin, Ireland where I'll be living, working and attending classes for two months this summer. While I have have been to Ireland for a brief four-day stint with a friend last summer, this experience will be entirely new. How many students can say they have had the opportunity to intern in a foreign country?
As part of the partnership between Marquette and University College Of Dublin I will be participating in a Summer Internship Programme where I will attend classes for approximately two weeks and then work for the remainder of my stay in Dublin. I have been placed with Ireland's Food & Wine Magazine and I could not be more excited to start and get a feel for how journalism cultures differ internationally.
Also, as part of my course in Irish History I have the opportunity to travel around Ireland as well. Visiting cultural sites around the Emerald Isle I'll be exploring Dublin's City Center, going north to Belfast, west to Westport, Connemara and Galaway, and just south to Glendalough and Wicklow.
My goal for this blog is to share the historical, professional and social aspects of my stay using written and visual storytelling. Enjoy. Baile Átha Cliath here I come!
